New Years Resolutions 2011
Happy 2011 to all my readers. Hope you had a chance to make a few New Years Resolutions? I went back to my resolutions for last year [click here] (2010) and apart from driving a new route on my way to work to avoid the gym altogether, they seem good enough for another year.
What is a New Years Resolution? It is something that goes in one Year and out the other …
or another magazine headline: “Woman changes man into something she isn’t interested in”.
But just to finish off the story on losing weight (a very heavy topic for me) I did some reading on Google and found that:
1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English.
4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English.
5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English.
My inevitable conclusion is that you can eat and drink what you like, speaking English is apparently what kills you.
Ek gaan maar Afrikaans praat in 2011 !!

Kan ek ook ‘n comment maak?..
“Woman changes man into something she isn’t interested in”.
If she(he) can’t love and like you just the way you are, then she(he) should maybe continue her(his) search?……
Men with their 800 words a day for communication: save some for your lady love at home! 😉
And a bit off the subject:
Same with accepting the children involved; sometimes the adult children also need to adapt and accept.
I did a lot of reading/research on the ‘STEP”- family,-kids concept. And read a lot of letters on parent24 a couple of years ago. I found it very scary what step parents (supposedly adults) had to say of step kids. It works both ways, actually 3 ways (couple’s relationship), incorporate the Fourth, and you shall succeed in a relatively great way. The Fourth being the most important one, then the 2 partners, the kids will follow….
And if the relationship is not working, don’t blame the kids!
Both real and step parents: Right from the start, seek support and /or help from books, people who’s been there, done that, professionals. Do it the right way right from the start.
Sometimes love is not enough…
That’s how I see it.
