Amy’s Piñata
The girls got busy today making a piñata for Amy’s upcoming birthday party. What a mess! Flour all over everything, sticky hands, messy faces, the whole nine yards!
But a lot of fun was had by everyone. They blew up balloons and tore paper and got stuck in (literally) and giggled and laughed and spent the entire morning doing girl things while I was left out in the cold.
I didn’t grow up with Mexican habits and so a piñata feels kind of strange to me. I’m not sure why one would spend hours to carefully make things, just to beat them to pieces in a second. But then again, I am flying model aeroplanes. You spend hours carefully making them just to smash them into the ground in a few seconds. Maybe it is the same, I don’t know.
So anyways I’ll keep you posted on progress.
